Ocean's 13 is back to the basics and back to an actual heist like the first movie. The movie takes place in Vegas and this time the boys are out to get a new casino owner played by Al Pacino. Al is opening up a cool looking casino, which would be neat if it were actually real. It’s right down the strip close to the MGM and the Monte Carlo. Look for a cameo from the UBSTUDIOS gang as we are walking down the streat when they are filming. You can also see a cameo from the lousy XXX Hypnotist and Lance Burton. Actually that last part is made up but you can see a red Chevy Blazer driving from the airport to Hooters in one scene. I wonder who that was?
Anyway, this time, they are all back and back to taking on Al Pacino with a little help from Desperate Measures (Andy Garcia). I wont give away much else but I will say this, 13 is better than 12 but not as great as 11 was. That being said, this movie is probably the most entertaining movie I have seen this summer so far, even more so than Spiderballs 3 and Shrek the Turd.
I give this movie a solid 3 out of 4 stars. It's a no brainer entertainer and if that is what Soderberg was going for, he got it.
At that point, Tyler Durden imagined himself as George Clooney or Matt Damon. Either way, Tyler was sure to have a new apartment explode tonight while he ate cheerios and called pay phones.
