April DX brings May FX

Today, I got 1320 KCTC, Sacramento, CA, Talk. I picked it up pretty clear on the new (old) Grundigity Radio that used to be Stuboys. I pointed the directional antenna toward CA and got it almost right of the back.




P.S. This marks a Flagstaff/Bellemont DX Landmark with 250 Stations received and 50 stations from CA.

It looks like that radio still has some tricks up its sleeve. Hope you enjoy it. I find it more sensitive than the more portable grundigity.

Yea, the old Grundigity can still pull a few through. On my way back to work in my car, I got 1670, KHPY, Moreno Valley, CA, Spanish. I heard the Wa ladys sing the ID pretty clearly and they even said Moreno Valley. This may be one of the Last DX gaps filled in since I didn't have a 1670 before. This morning, a sports station was coming in pretty clear on 1670 and I think it is the Redding one since there are no other ones. I will do a little more investigation into that one.

I wouldn't doubt you heard the other cali one, I've heard those stations from almost all DX locations, so no surprise you got em.

While I have officially started my California DX, I am still working on some New Mexico Stations that I should get. This morning, I got another one on my list from NM on the handy dandy wang spanken Grundigity. I got 1280 KRZE, Farmington, NM, Mexican. It was coming in fairly clear and I heard an ID and an ad for a casino. So here it is.

KNRO Redding is a pretty powerful station, Ive heard it from MT so it is likely you could hear it. They are a Oakland A's affiliate, also ESPN radio.
