SCARY MOVIE 3

By Freddie Farz Jr.

You thought the second Scary Movie was bad, wait till you see this one. The main problem with this film is that it wasn't directed or written or had anything to do with the Wayans brothers. Lets divide it up a little bit into the favorite categories, direction, acting and story.

The Story of this film centers mostly around parodying the movie Signs and The Ring. It doesn't do a very good job with the spoof aspect though. Yeah sure it is funny at times but this is pretty stupid humor we are talking about, i.e. fart jokes, you know that whole thing. This movie has a pretty simple, predictable, and at times stupid story.

Acting is to be expected to be poor from everyone in the film and indeed it was. Anna Faris was good in the first one but she has troubles in this one. I assume it is from a poor script. Everyone else did a pretty fair to poor job as well, including Charlie Sheen who can do comedy better than this. See Hot Shots (especially the second one). Leslie Nielson did an absolutely horrible job. He definitely has lost his touch as a comedian. Again its probably because the script sucked.

Direction; David Zucker is probably most well known for the Naked Gun series. The Naked Gun series was hilarious, each and every movie had a good solid story and most of all, good writing. This movie is probably his worst, although I haven't seen much of his other work. The characters sloppily go from one scene (or spoof I should say) to the next, and it just isn't funny.

Overall this film was, as most say, Okay. It is the worst movie in the series so far (I say so far because Dimension is planning a fourth and a fifth sequel) and it even beats the pretty stupid second movie in worseness. This movie could have been done better, by all means. I could have written a funnier parody of Signs then what is seen here. I think the fact that this movie sucked had to do with the movies it spoofed sucked as well. This is all except for the LOTR.

It sucks!
