Solar Flare on 6-2-07

Postby TheStuboy » June 4th, 2007, 11:46 am

On June 2nd, a huge ass solar flare occurred resulting in a lot of weird effects on the radio spectrum.

Most noteably, here in Green River, I was able to receive several stations from the Midwest USA, including Ohio and Missouri.

The results of this strange reception (while I was at work) will be posted on
http://www.ubstudios.com/dx/solardx.html as soon as I finish finding out what I received.

Solar flares this size are rare, but to see when the next one could happen or will happen, check.

Flagstaff DX reported a strange tone that would decrease frequency on the lower part of the FM dial on the same day. This was later heard in Green River as well.

One thing is for sure, solar flares are awesome!

Ell, I got your message about these stations. Thats pretty crazy you were able to hear so many far away FM stations. I will do some more dxing soon.
