The Best (and Worst) Movies of 2004

Postby Kaing of Kaings » October 16th, 2016, 6:45 pm

We are taking a time machine here at UBSTUdios and going back in time to rate movies as far as we can to capture movie history. That's right, when we have time, we will be going back over the years not yet covered and ranking the best and worst movies we have seen. Thanks to Netflix and our archives here for capturing out previous reviews. 2004 was a big year at UBSTUdios as it was when the website was born and the forums started filling up with reviews we watched. Looking over my reviews, I used to watch a lot of movies back then. No surprise, I saw a lot of crap too. Here are the movies to remember in 2004.

The Best:

1. Sideways - (Alexander Paynes classic)
2. The Incredibles - (Pixar makes better superheros than Marvel)
3. Kill Bill Volume 2 - (QT always good)
4. Collateral - (Tom Cruise gets scary)
5. The Aviator - (DiCaprio Flys)
5. (tie) Spider-Man 2 - (2 Spiderballs)
6. Harold and Kumar go to White Castle - (Harold and Kumar get stuck in a fart battle between two hot chicks)
7. Troy - (Achilles finally gets his Heel Torn)
8. Saw - (Shing and more Shing)
9. Shrek 2 - (Hea Ever After)
10. Shaun of the Dead - (Shaun of the Shing)

Best Documents
1. Supersize Me - (Morgan Spurlock's Masterpiece)
2. Fahrenheit 9/11 - (Michael Moore hits GWB in the Bawls)
3. Bush's Brain - (He had a brain?)
4. Downfall - (Hea)
5. History of Rock and Roll
6. History Channel - The War of 1812
7. What the #$*& do we Know

TV:
1. Ghost Hunters - Season 1 (The show that started all the shitty spinoff ghost shows, but this one was awesome at the time)
1. (Tied) Mythbusters - Season 2
2. Long Way Round - (Fascinating watching Ewen McGreggor and buddy drive around the world on BMW Bikes)
2. (Tied) Curb Your Enthusiasm - Season 4
3. South Park- Season 8
3. (Tied) Chapelle's Show - Season 2

Worst of 2004 (had to pare this down significantly)

1. The Final Cut - (The Robin Williams Movie that started the 24 Hour Hair Cut meme)
2. Secret Window - (Johnny Depp looks out the window wishing he was in a better movie)
3. Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow - (Captain Skydick and the Shitty CGI Movie's of Tomorrow)
4. Species III - (Bad CGI Oates)
5. Ladder 49 - (John Travolta starts fire with his farts. Joaquin Phoenix puts them out with his butt.)
6. The Terminal - (Spielberg's Worst since 1949)
7. Star Ship Troopers 2 - (You do not want to know more)
8. FarenHYPE 9/11 - (Right wings answer to Michael Moore is pure Poowee)
9. The Life Aquatic with Steve Zishu- (Bill Murry becomes unfunny)
9. (Tie) Godzilla - Final Wars -(Godzirra - Final Ballwars)
10. The Bourne Supremacy - (Shaky Camera fights make this worse than The Stu Supremacy movie)

Yep, overall, a lot of shit came out this year and not many good ones. Wasn't one of Hollywoods bests.
Harry: " Whoa, Jesus, Check out the butt on that one."

Lloyd: "He must work out."
