The Best of 2005

Postby Kaing of Kaings » January 7th, 2006, 6:18 pm

Add your list here of what you think the Best movies of 2005 were. I will start. Movies can be ones you have seen in the theaters but they have to be the ones released in the year 2005. Top of the list is the best but things can change. Here are my top 15 so far.

1. King Kong
2. Wedding Crashers
3. Jarhead
4. War of the Worlds
5. Munich
6. Cinderella Man
7. Wallace and Grommit, Curse of the Hea Rabbit
8. Fartplan
9. Sin City
10. Star Wars, Episode 3. Revenge of the Shith
11. Syriana
12. Buttman Begins
12. Red Eye
13. Charlie and the Pass Gas Refinery
14. A History of Flaculence
15. Hostage

The movies I chose reflect the movies that I thought were the most entertaining and quality of the year. I know many of the critics out there will disagree but go ahead. Thats your problem...HEA! Anyway, this list is subject to change as I see more movies that were made last year. For instance...I still wouldn't mind seeing Brokeback Mountain even though the subject mater is Kang. I heard it is real good though.

Overall, I thought 2005 was a mediocre year. Not much came out that really blew me away. Damn it Old School Hollywood Washed up Hollywood. Start putting out quality shit with stories that people care about and can enjoy. HEA.

Best TV of 2005
1. Ghost Hunters - Season 2 (Tango flatches in the night)
1. (Tied) Deadliest Catch - Season 1 (Deadliest Flatch was so fucking engrossing. I couldn't wait to come home to watch men brave the Bering Seas to catch Crustaceans.)
1. (Tied) Mythbusters- Season 3
2. Curb Your Enthusiasm - Season 4 (Larry is Back)
3. Survivor Man - Season 1 (Les Stroud smells his farts in the wild)
4. South Park - Season 9
5. Family Guy - Season 4 (Family Guy returns after a hiatus)
Harry: " Whoa, Jesus, Check out the butt on that one."

Lloyd: "He must work out."

Kang Kong, Munich, and War of the Worlds were probably my favorite movies of the year, but like you said there wasnt a whole lot to choose from.

Wedding crashers wasnt as funny as expected, 40 year old virgin was a decent comedy. Flightplan was entertaining but kind of stu.

Carolyn really liked the movie Crash but I wasnt as big a fan.

Overall, way to many remakes, sequels, or adaptations of crappy tv shows this year. Hollywood really showed us they have lost a lot of originality. They have also decided all movies need to be 3 hours long testing our wits to sit through these massive productions.

Updated List

Postby Kaing of Kaings » January 29th, 2006, 1:21 pm

Heres the update afterseeing Cronicles or Daria. Notice that Charlie and the Pass Gas Refinery has moved off the list because after more consideration, the movie hasn't aged well. Also Brokeback Has moved up a notch because I think it's a good movie.

1. Brokeback Mountain
2. King Kong
3. Wedding Crashers
4. War of the Worlds
5.Jarhead
5.(Tie) Joyoux Noel
6. Munich
7. Cinderella Man
8. Wallace and Grommit, Curse of the Hea Rabbit
9. Fartplan
10. Chronicles of Narnia, The Lion, The Beat and Michael Jackson's Wardrobe
11. Sin City
12. Star Wars, Episode 3. Revenge of the Shith
13. Syriana
14. The Constant Gardener
15. Red Eye
16. Crash

Notice I just put the Constant Flatcher and Crash on here. Constant Flatcher is in the same lines as Syriana and Crash wasn't a bad movie but it was too much like Magnolia which is superior to Crash.

I am also adding a list of Documentaries I have seen that came out last year and so far, the best is Enron, The Gayest Guys in the Room. Rented that last night and it is well done and makes you mad at what Enron did.

1. Enron, The Smartest Guys in the Room
2. Grizzly Man
3. March of the Penguins
4. Murder Balls
Harry: " Whoa, Jesus, Check out the butt on that one."

Lloyd: "He must work out."
